In this interview I speak with HP’s Allen Buckner. He shows me the new MediaSmart Server and goes over it’s new features and also goes over features that will be shared with existing owners. Take a look!

Here are the posts from last week.
I’m not sure how I’ll move forward with this new segment but I would certainly like to overview my recent posts and maybe offer up a bit of news here and there. Take a look at the comments for Show 31. Listener CDMan sent in a link to a Windows Home Server review that I found amusing. Take a look.
Spotted at CES!
I mentioned Xavier from notebooks.com in show 30. I was browsing his blog recently and found a nice blurry shot of me in one of his CES photos! Check out his post here. He did a real nice job on the photos. There are a lot of people mentioned in this post! Look for the next-to-last photo, blurry green shirt guy on the right. I’m blurry because I didn’t win the HP Mini! That’s what was going on in the photo, Warren Crocker, took home the last of the Mini’s that were given away by HP.

This first video is Todd Headrick and he shows us some of the new hardware that is going to be released. You have heard some of this in show 30 but the videos are worth watching.

UPDATE: According to Engadget this update is ready for download. The gallery application is 140MB so be ready for that. I have not seen an official release on the PS3 blog.
Are you kidding me? Sony’s new photo gallery application for the PS3 not only can sort by EXIF information in photographs but also by actual photo content including, colors, the number of people in the photo, the age of the person in the photo, and facial expressions. The update is upcoming and there is no date yet but hit the link for the PS3 Blog post and a video of the technology. The update also supports DivX 3.11 playback.
Read more here.

Here is something a little different for us at homeservershow.com. Tell me what you think of this format of video and presentation.
Powermat was only open to press so I thought I would publish a small piece about the product. It’s not due out until late 2009 and the models I looked at were all hand made. Look for the case surrounding the Blackberry. The case holds the technology that allows the battery to charge wirelessly. It looks like a promising technology but it’s got some things to work out. When the market moves to a battery that has this built in I think you will see this kind of stuff take off.
Feel free to comment on Powermat and if you like this format of reporting/presentation. The YouTube edition is after the click.
From Powermatusa.com
No more tangled mess of cords or searching for the right adaptor, simply place your enabled device on the Powermat to charge. Featuring a full range of wireless charging solutions for all your favorite devices, Powermat is compatible with iPhone, BlackBerry, MP3 players, cell phones, headsets, hand held electronic games, digital cameras, GPS units, and laptops. Whether you charge at home, at the office, on the road, or in all of these places, Powermat has a solution for you.
Powermat technology will revolutionize the way we charge.

Ok, there is nothing real serious or newsworthy about this video. It does have some fun stuff in it though. It’s only a couple of minutes long so take a look! You will see:
A short snippet of a CES podcast in progress.
Fatal1ty gamer guy putting some serious hurt on CES attendees.
Ian Dixon’s F1 dream
Some podcast guy eating a brownie in the Microsoft Press area.
I should win a prize for the oddest assortment of CES video snippets. Just keeping it light people! Enjoy!
Oh, and if you prefer YouTube click the more link and you will find the YouTube player.

I spent a lot of time walking from the Sands showroom over to the Wynn and Encore where CnTrStg was located.

Jessica Zahn from the Zune Team talking with Ian Dixon of thedigitallifestyle.com

This is the HP booth. Although cool, I first saw the new MSS at CntrStg. Thanks to HP for sponsoring CntrStg. Check this link for the photo.

A chance to win a new HP MediaSmart Server.

A cool new Asus tablet.

This shot is from the Microsoft booth. Bloggers, Podcasters, and Press (i’m sure others as well) were allowed to enter the secret enclave on the second floor of the Microsoft booth. The lounge was very nice and had a great spread of of food and drink. Lining the sides of the lounge were new models of laptops, Windows Home Servers, and other devices. I will have video as well. I also got to play with Microsoft Surface which I enjoyed.

Dave, Ian, and Andrew at the Bloggers/Podcaster paradise, CntrStg.

The Podcast Crew. Listen to Ian’s Award Show Podcast to hear ALL of us discussing Media Center, Windows Home Server, Windows 7, and other topics. I’ll link to the show once Ian publishes it.
I’ll try to put out more photos soon. I’m tinkering with Flickr, Wordpress, and Windows Home Server as a total solution to solving my blogging photo storage issues.
