Most people keep their valuable belongings in cabinets, cupboards, night stands etc with an assumption that they are safe. However, in reality it is not so. To safeguard your valuables, security safes are the best option. These valuables can be anything, like jewellery, money, files, documents, certificates etc. Keeping these valuable things in a safe ensures that they are secure.
Safes are specifically designed to accommodate these things and using a secure locking system you can rest assured about their safety. Home safes are specially made of metal and have a simple structure that allows people to store their valuable belongings securely at a convenient place. A safe is typically box shaped and heavy. Many safes have time mechanisms in them which allow the users to open them at a certain time. Other types of safes either have a lock code or a key for access. However, regardless of its operation, it is a smart and convenient way to ensure that the belongings are safe inside them.
While purchasing a safe, it is very important to consider the size of safe. The smaller the size of safe, cheaper it will be. If there are a number of important things like documents, certificates, jewellery etc, then it is advisable to purchase a safe of large size. If you have a few valuables then you can opt for a small safe.

It is essential to choose a security safe, which provides effective protection for your valuables. There are many models of safes available for your home and office purposes and selecting the right one plays an important part in keeping your important documents and valuables safe.
If a safe is fireproof, it has a rating. The fireproof rating for a safe is commonly expressed in minutes or hours, to indicate how well the contents would be protected in the safe during a fire. For example, a safe with a fireproof rating of two hours, would indicate that the safe has been tested in a 1700 degree Fahrenheit fire, for a two hour period and the inside temperature of the safe did not rise above 350 degrees. This is a low temperature to protect valuables such as jewellery and other important documents from permanent damage.
The burglary rating of a safe, also expressed in minutes or hours, indicates the difficulty in breaking into the safe. For example, a safe with a burglary rating of 15 minutes indicates that it would take 15 minutes for an experienced locksmith to access the safe using common locksmith tools.
Fireproof and burglary rated safes are available in a combination of locking options. They should be purchased depending on the valuables that need protection and are available in various sizes. Security safes are an effective method of protecting your personal belongings from burglars.

Quite often, when people think of safes, the most common image that comes to the mind is of a large, reinforced, rectangular metal box for placing valuable belongings and important documents. Although these large safes are still available, there are many other types of safes for securing your valuables at home or the office.
For most homes, a wide selection of small home safes, perfect for protecting cash, jewellery and other important documents, are available. These home safes are ideal for securely storing passports, legal documents, insurance papers etc. Home safes are available with electronic keypad and key locking options. Home safes are also available with fire-resistance and for keeping laptops.
One clever type of security safe is the under floor safe. These safes are installed in the floor and can easily be concealed under a carpet or rug. They come with a combination of key and electronic keypad locking and used in both new and existing homes. Underfloor safes are the best security safes for protecting your precious belongings from burglars.
With an increase in crime rates, it is very important to ensure the security of your important documents and valuables. Security safes are available in different sizes and should be selected depending on the type of items that need protection.

The stolen items included a Canon DVD recorder, Toshiba laptop, and a mobile phone and the total cash amount of electronic equipment stolen during the burglary was £2,000.
The family is devastated at the loss of their electrical equipment, as it contained many special and irreplaceable family memories and hundreds of pictures. They have urged the perpetrators to return the family’s memories and photos, as they would be worthless to anyone else.

The New Year has not got off to a great start for the residents of Bolton. There were reports of burglars breaking into 20 homes in the very first weekend of 2009. The robbery incidents were reported between January 2 and January 5 and in some cases, the thieves entered through an unlocked or open window or door.
Bolton Police’s chief inspector Andrea Jones, said that the police are doing everything possible to reduce the robberies but really need the help of the public to bring down the level of such incidents in the future.
Out of the 20 homes burgled, 11 had their doors or windows unlocked, making it easier for the thieves to get in. The police have encouraged residents to security mark valuable items, to facilitate their easy return if they are lost or stolen.

Burglary is a problem throughout the length and breadth of the country. The audacity of the burglars seems to be increasing every day. Last month, three burglaries were attempted across Cotswolds and Stroud.
Burglars broke into a golf club in Minchin Hampton where they tried to steal Christmas trees. This occurred late at night. A garden centre near Stonehouse and also a factory in an industrial estate at Tetbury were the two other places where break-ins occurred.
The police have urged people to employ extra means of protection for their belongings. In these troubled times the easiest way to keep your valuables safe and secure is by placing them inside a well protected safe.
The market has already seen a rise in the sale of security safes in the last few months. If you do not have a safe at your home, you should buy one at the earliest opportunity.
Various kinds of safes are available but it is advisable that you buy strong burglar safes which have tough, steel anti-drill doors as they ensure maximum protection against burglars. Also try to buy safes which can be bolted down or hidden so that burglars cannot carry away your safe.

With seven burglaries in one weekend the police are urging residents to keep their homes safe and secure. The Rossmere and Rift house in Hartlepool was the target of the burglars and the incident took place in the early hours of the weekend.
The police stated that of the seven burglaries that took place, five were a result of homes being left unlocked and could have been prevented if the residents were alert. The stolen items were cash, alcohol, laptops, cigarettes and keys that belonged to the home and the car.
Detective Inspector Lee Rukin clearly stated that if the property was left unlocked then it would only take a few seconds for the burglar to steal from the house. He also said that Christmas was around the corner and the residents should not make mistakes like this as being a victim of burglary during festive season could be even more devastating.
As Christmas is an invitation to burglars the Detective suggested that the residents should lock up their homes and be more alert and attentive. He also reassured the trust of the residents by saying that an operation would be carried out over Christmas that would involve extensive patrolling of the area. The authorities also urged the residents to use security safes to safeguard their belongings.
He concluded by saying that any help from the public would be grateful and those who are caught in this operation would be dealt with as is necessary.
